Wine and Belgian beer in Krabi Town
A short guide to the wine and Belgian beer that goes with a French-Thai dinner.

A short list, chosen to match the kitchen
A French kitchen and a glass of wine belong together, so Gecko Cabane keeps a short list of red, white and rosé wines chosen to suit the dishes on the menu.
The list is deliberately small. It is easier to choose from, and each bottle has a reason to be there.
Why Belgian beer
Our kitchen is run by a French-Thai couple, and Belgian beer is a natural companion to French home cooking. Abbey-style ales, blonde ales and wheat beers share the table well with braised and creamy dishes.
If you prefer beer to wine, ask us which style suits your dish. We are happy to explain the differences.
What goes with what
These are suggestions, not rules. Choose what you enjoy.
Beef bourguignon
Slow-braised in red wine, it suits a red wine or an abbey-style ale with some depth.
Chicken in cream sauce
A rich, creamy sauce goes well with a dry white wine or a light blonde ale.
Massaman curry
The gentle spice and sweetness of a mild curry pair with a rosé or a wheat beer.
Velvety soup
A smooth soup to start works with a crisp white wine or a blonde ale.
