A quiet room for two
Gecko Cabane seats 40 guests at most, so the dining room stays calm and conversation comes easily. It is run by a French-Thai couple who welcome you themselves.
There is no show and no rush. You come for the food, a glass of wine or a Belgian beer, and time to talk. We are closed on Tuesdays, and the kitchen takes orders until 10 pm.
What you will eat
The menu is French home cooking, such as beef bourguignon braised slowly in red wine, and chicken in a cream sauce. A few Thai dishes from the chef sit alongside, like a mild massaman curry.
A short list of wines and Belgian beers goes with the meal. Ask us what works with your dishes; we are glad to help you choose.

Chef Jariya runs the kitchen and her French husband looks after the dining room. Together they have built a small restaurant they would want to eat in themselves.
If you are curious about a dish, just ask. They are happy to explain what is in it and how it is cooked.
